The Boat

Silence everywhere
after you were here
I miss your scream
I miss your laughter
I miss your energy

Going to the railway station
every hour
to see if you are coming

Disappointed I walk away
look up in the sky
down to the ground
but - where are you

In a foreign country
I found you
in the stars I see you
in the flowers I see your curves

Weep no more my soul
tomorrow she will write
give me the force
to continue
continue breathing

My heart is melting
remembering your neck
your skin as soft as silk

Sitting alone
under the roof
I open a window
to see the birds
remembering your voice
when the birds are singing
waking me in the morning
as the rain send drops upon my head

I walk down to the harbour
enter a fishing boat
getting closer to the elements
The days are long
working for the ship
filling the net with fish
for the soup

But the night are mine
I dare not sleep
afraid missing a sign from you
a blinking star
a light reflecting on the waves
the wind touching my skin
is a touch by you
